Mumbai Cricketer Creates History After Scoring a Century and Taking Five Wickets in the Same Match for the First Time in 36 Years
Musheer Khan was the centre of attention as he played both the ball and the bat and collected six wickets for 85 runs to win the first innings of the Ranji Trophy encounter for Mumbai over Haryana.
Mumbai, who had gone 293-run first-innings winners at the BKC Ground on Tuesday, went out on Tuesday night to put on a stellar 288-run partnership for the first wicket with Musheer Khan in the first half of the Elite Group D clash with Haryana.
The 21-year-old picked up six wickets to grab Haryana's first five in the 430-run chase as the visitors were bowled out for 270 in reply to Mumbai's 430. He was only the first Mumbai player this century to score a First-Class hundred and pick up five wickets in a match, joining Ravi Shastri (Madhya Pradesh in 1990-91), Polly Umrigar (Maharashtra in 1957-58), Vinoo Mankad (Madaras in 1953-54), Dattu Phadkar (Madaras in 1948-49) and Madan Raiji (Maharashtra in 1947-48).

Nishant Sindhu was unbeaten on a 105 while Musheer took six wickets to enforce the follow-on as Haryana looked to score a third successive win with a bonus point. In the second innings Haryana ended Day Three at 73/2 with eight wickets down and 87 runs away.
It's an uphill struggle for the visitors today, as the pitch is now noticeably slower and in poor condition.
“The wicket has slowed down tremendously. As quoted by PTI, our spinners are keen to target those areas where the ball is jumping high, where is the turn available, said Musheer.
The early setback for Haryana was the injury sustained by opener Himanshu Rana to his helmet by Sylvester D'Souza. Skipper Ankit Kumar was earlier knocked out by Tanush Kotian.
Sindhu was in danger of being caught by a fielder on the leg side when he pulled off D'Souza but missed. Dheeru Singh was then knocked down by Musheer and D'Souza had a great fielding effort at backward square leg. Yashvardhan Dalal was unbeaten with Sindhu on 13.

Sindhu, who has been a part of both the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans camp in the IPL, attributed his turnin' track experience at Lahli for his adaptation to the situations.
“For a long time it has been spinning more as compared to seam over there. After playing there, it seemed easier to play here," he said.
The order was to bat long and the wicket was not very level. I'll have to play with more attention tomorrow as the wicket will become even worse tomorrow," he said.
